Belize : Part 2

Sep

after a couple days on the beach eric & i were itching to go out and explore! we took three big trips during our stay….the jaguar preserve, a mayan ruins tour, & snorkeling on the barrier reef. there were many smaller ventures into the village too. a little more info on these shots below. I will also put some more photos up on my flickr page, there’s just too many to fit here  🙂

– snorkeling the barrier reef!

& 3 – a huge school of blue fish eric & I swam with for at least 20 mins. they let us join the school, coasting along with them through the reef!

– a rain storm over the barrier reef. we had just got soaked by another one a few minutes before.

- the bumpy dirt road bike ride into Hopkins Village. it’s one of the few Garifuna villages around. we spent a lot of time in the village exploring, eating…

– hiking the jaguar preserve at cockscomb basin sanctuary. when we got there, we found out jaguars sleep day, ah boo! we did see lots of other creatures though!

– bad boy, was broken down on the road into town. found him on one of our bike rides. you can probably count the # of broken things on two hands.

-11 – xunantunich ruins. absolutely breathtaking. we could see guatemala from the top.

– ahhh

– the view of dangriga from our tiny airplane ride back (tear).
